The highly-anticipated teaser of Mamangam: History of the Brave is finally out. The Malayalam period drama, which will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, features Malayalam superstar Mammootty in the lead. The one-and-a-half-minute teaser unfolds with the audience learning about the period the movie is set in. A young boy is seen preparing for war while telling a story. The film is set in Kerala and tells the tale of Kalaripayattu, one of the oldest forms of martial arts popular in the state.
It also showcases the Mamangam festival which took place once every 12 years in the 17th century. The festivities would take place by the banks of Bharatapuzha, Thirunavaya in Malabar. As the teaser transcends to its end, the boy begins to describe his "mama" (uncle) and it is then that the teaser gives a glimpse of Mammootty. Although it is a mere glimpse, it is definitely a whistle-worthy moment.

The teaser reminds us of Baahubali. The grandeur, the sets, and the battles share a similar vibe as Baahubali. Can you blame us, Baahubali is the biggest period drama we've witnessed recently and it has blown our minds.
