Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Unni Mukundan, Mohanlal and others cast their vote; Read On
Many South celebs like Unni Mukundan and Mohanlal have cast their vote during this election season. Superstar Mohanlal also took to his social media to share a picture of himself after he cast his vote.
The South Indian film industry has also geared up for the Lok Sabha Elections. Many celebs like Mohanlal, Unni Mukundan, Shruti Haasan, Suriya, Jyothika, Thalapathy Vijay, Thala Ajith, superstar Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan among many others queued up at the polling booths to cast their vote. Many of them even urged their fans to cast their vote. Thala Ajith who is currently shooting for the remake of Pink was clicked arriving with wife Shalini. On the other hand, Shruti Haasan took to Instagram and posted a photo of herself with father Kamal Haasan before heading to vote. She captioned it as, "VOTING DAY !!! Proud of you my dear father @ikamalhaasan I’m on my way to vote, are you? #bigday."
Amongst them, superstar Mohanlal also cast his vote recently. He took to his Twitter account to share a picture of himself after casting his vote. He captioned his photo as, "Voting is our democratic right and responsibility. I have exercised my right, so should all of you. Every vote counts #Elections2019." A video of actor Unni Mukundan has also been going viral wherein he can be seen standing in the queue to cast his vote. Actor Suriya was clicked standing in the queue with wife Jyothika and actor Karthi. Thalapathy Vijay, AR Rahman, Rajinikanth, music composer Anirudh, veteran actor Sivakumar with wife Lakshmi and daughter Brindha arrived at T Nagar to cast their vote.
The voting started early in the morning amid heavy security arrangements everywhere at polling stations. There was a little delay in voting at some places in Chennai; however, Kamal and Shruti Haasan waited very patiently in the queue to cast their vote. Kamal is not contesting elections this year, but his party, Makkal Needhi Maiam is contesting for all 38 seats. Superstar Rajinikanth who was shooting for his upcoming film Darbar in Mumbai headed to Chennai only to cast his vote. Darbar also stars Nayanthara in the female lead and it is one of the most anticipated films.
