In an interview, KGF star Yash spoke about how a massive hit only sets high expectations in terms of business, which is a big disadvantage. Read on.
Kannada action-drama KGF: Chapter 1 starring Yash in the lead role was one of the biggest films of 2018. Being directed by Prashant Neel, the makers of the film have geared up for the second part and the expectations are quite high among the moviegoers. While the team has already kick-started with the shooting of the film, Yash is expected to start from June 6. Srinidhi Shetty will play the leading lady while Ravi Basrur, Bhuvan Gowda, and Shivakumar among others will be seen in supporting roles. While we wait to know what's in store next, Yash recently spoke about the disadvantages of giving a hit film.
In an interview to Deccan Herald, KGF star Yash spoke about how disadvantage of a massive hit is it sets high expectations in terms of business. He said, "I don't see any disadvantages here. I believe one should not try too hard to please their audience; being genuine is the key. However, if I have to talk about the disadvantages of a massive hit, the expectations are higher from other businesses, not the audience."
"For example, wherever we go to shoot now, they expect a lot of money, whether it is shooting at a hotel or casting someone for the film. They automatically assume that a film like KGF has no financial constraints," he further added.
The Kannada superstar also spoke about how, now that he has gained popularity, fans are eagerly looking forward to Chapter 2. He said, "It keeps me motivated. KGF had already created a hype here, so to live up to that kind of expectation was a different kind of challenge. For those outside Karnataka, I was a newcomer, so their expectations were less. Now the entire country is looking forward to chapter two, which means more expectations, motivation and more enjoyment.
