With just four days left to go for the grand premiere of Tamil Bigg Boss season 3, a plea was filed in the Madras High Court on Tuesday seeking a direction to constitute a panel to censor television programmes and restrain Star Vijay channel from broadcasting the show Bigg Boss hosted by actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan without censor certificate, reported PTI. Just like the previous seasons of the show, the promos for season 3 have already created a buzz among the audiences.

In fact, the latest promo features Kamal Haasan counting down to the big day. The petition filed also wants the court to direct the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) to take appropriate action against the channel and producer Endemole India Private Limited. The petition was filed by a lawyer and it claimed that the dialogues spoken by the participants in the show have ‘double-meaning’ and termed the clothes worn by contestants are obscene.

"Particularly, Bigg Boss show hosted by actor Kamal Haasan is being telecast with abusive content only with the view to increase the TRP ratings and get monetary benefits without any social responsibility," the lawyer submitted. The petition also claimed that such reality shows do not go through any scrutiny unlike films which are awarded an appropriate certificate.

Claiming that parents and elders were embarrassed and worried even as children are attracted to such shows, the petitioner as an interim measure wanted the court to restrain the television channel from telecasting the show without clearance from censor board, the report stated. The season 3 of Bigg Boss Tamil is slated to air from June 23.
