On this occasion, fans and celebrities of South Indian Film industry took to Twitter and paid tribute to Sivaji Ganesan on his 91st birth anniversary. Kamal Haasan took to Twitter and penned a heartfelt note about Sivaji Ganesan. He wrote, "Like all naive fans of Nadigar Thilakam, I too believed his human body would be immortal like his body of work. After so many years, his sons and fans are still trying to come to terms with him not being there. Happy birthday Nadigar Thilakam alias Appa."
Actor Krishna tweeted, "Watta man he was and watta life he lived n led ....... n honestly he still lives n leads many of u #respect happy birthday #SivajiGanesan ayya." Actor Vikram Prabhu was among other celebs who wished Sivaji Ganesan on his 91st birthday anniversary. He wrote, "October 1st, Celebrating the 91st Birthday of the Legend #SivajiGanesan." Also, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy and Assembly Speaker V Sivakozhunthu also paid tribute by putting garland to the statue of Sivaji on the ECR at Karuvadikuppam.

In a career that spanned almost for five decades, he had acted 288 films in various languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
