The film Kaappaan starring megastars Suriya and Mohanlal is making headlines as the film is facing charges of plagiarism from a writer named John Charles. As per a report by News Minute, the writer John Charles had narrated the story he wrote to director K.V. Anand in January 2017. The writer also said that after the narration he gave KV Anand who is directing the film starring Suriya and Mohanlal, did not any reply from the director. John Charles has now filed a case in the Madras High Court. The writer is also seeking an interim injunction from the Madras High Court on the film's release which is on September 20.    

This film is slated for a release on September 20. The court will hear this case filed by John Charles on September 4. The writer also states that he also more than 10 years of experience in the field of cinema. John Charles who has accused the makers of Kaappaam of copying his story is seeking the writer’s credit for this film and wants the makers of the film to give him copyright fees. Kaappaan is one of the most highly anticipated Tamil films to hit the screens this year.

The film has some power packed performers in its star cast. Superstar Mohanlal will be essaying the part of India's Prime Minister while megastar Suriya will be essaying a Special Protection Group officer. The film, Kaappaan's star cast also includes names like Arya, Sayyeshaa, Boman Irani and Samuthirakani. The fans are eagerly looking forward to watch this film on the big screen.
