Dhanush on National Awards: Films like Pariyerum Perumal & Ratsasan did not get the recognition they deserved
The actor while talking about the National Film Awards said that he was disappointed that films like Pariyerum Perumal, Merku Thodarchi Malai, and Ratsasan did not get the recognition they deserved as they were brilliantly made films.
South superstar Dhanush who is looking forward to the release of his upcoming film Asuran has opened up about the recently announced 66th National Awards. The actor while talking about the National Film Awards said that he was disappointed that films like Pariyerum Perumal, Merku Thodarchi Malai, and Ratsasan did not get the recognition they deserved as they were brilliantly made films. Megastar Dhanush recently featured in a Hollywood flick called The Extraordinary Journey of Fakir. This film marked the actor's debut in Hollywood.
Dhanush spoke candidly about what he felt about the National Film Awards during the audio launch of Asuran. The actor also said that both him and Vetri Maaran did not keep high hopes with respect to getting awards and other recognition but, the film Vada Chennai's art director had worked very hard for the film and his hard work sadly went unrecognized as the National Film Awards.
Superstar Dhanush also added that he was definitely let down by the National Film Awards, but he did not take to his heart. The Asuran actor who has many interesting projects coming up said that he was hoping not just for his film, but also other films like Pariyerum Perumal, Merku Thodarchi Malai, and Ratsasan to get the recognition they deserve as these films really showcased some really stunning story lines and unique story telling ways. Dhanush is also gearing up for the release of Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta which got delayed for a long time but will finally hit the theatres on September 6.
