Rajinikanth's young and refreshing look has left fans amazed and excited about the film. Darbar will see Rajinikanth in the role of a cop. This has set high expectations among the moviegoers as the superstar is returning as a cop after almost two decades. The last time megastar Rajinikanth played the role of a police officer was in the film, Pandian. Meanwhile, the much-awaited film also stars Suniel Shetty, Nivetha Thomas, Prateik Babbar and Yogi Babu.

Darbar is set for January 2020 release and the audio launch of the film is expected to take place in November or December. Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam has sung a song in the film, which is said to be Rajinikanth's entry song.
