Comedian and legend actor Crazy Mohan passes away in Chennai; celebs mourn his death
Crazy Mohan, who is known for his funny punch lines, suffered a heart attack on Monday morning and was immediately taken to the Kauvery Hospital in Chennai. He was declared dead at 2 PM.
Popular Tamil writer, comedian and actor, Crazy Mohan passed away in Chennai on June 10, Monday. He was 66. The film industry has witnessed two huge losses on the same day. Legendary actor and playwright Girish Karnad and comedian-actor Crazy Mohan left for heavenly abode today morning. Crazy Mohan, who is known for his crazy punch lines, suffered a heart attack on Monday morning and was immediately taken to the Kauvery Hospital in Chennai. He was declared dead at 2 PM.
Many South Indian celebrities like Siddharth, Kamal Haasan, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Rahul Ravindran, RJ Balaji and many others paid last respect on social media. Rang De Basanti actor Siddharth took to Twitter and mentioned about legendary actor's contribution to Tamil cinema. He wrote, "#CrazyMohan sir is no more. What a sad day for cinema, theatre, laughter and life. There will never be another like him. Prayers for his soul.Deepest condolences to the family. He was a huge part of our collective #Tamil consciousness and our ability to make or laugh at a joke."

On April 11, 1976, Rangachari Mohan’s play, Crazy Thieves in Palavakkam was premiered in Chennai and it gave rise to the new talent in the South Indian film industry. Comedy became an instant hit and gave Rangachari a new name, 'Crazy Mohan'.
During one of the interviews with Scroll In. Crazy Mohan was if he has ever gotten into trouble for writing comedy. To which he replied, "Unless you write about politics or vulgarity, your freedom of speech will not be restricted. So I do not write politics or vulgarity. Even if I do so by mistake, Balaji will cut it out. If we have almost completed over 1,000 dramas this year with Chocolate Krishna, that is what I will call the success of Crazy Creations."
