Bigil song Singappenney: Thalapathy Vijay and AR Rahman pack in the right punch

We can already hear the song being played at sports events. But as of now, Singappenney is on the loop and driving away those midweek blues. The first song from Thalapathy Vijay's Bigil has released and what a powerful song it is. For the unversed, Singappenney means lioness in Tamil. The new song has Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman work his magic on it. The acclaimed music director made a sports anthem that will send shivers down the spine. The song has been dedicated to women and it has montages of the new film. 

The song video starts off with director Atlee briefing the music composer about the theme. The filmmaker informs the musician that the anthem is dedicated to women. The song features some typical AR Rahman elements. From the soul-stirring beats to tunes that evoke a sense of patriotism, the song is bound to keep you hooked. Lyrics by Vivek takes the song to the next level. 

The video features scenes from the upcoming movie showcasing Vijay train his team of women soccer players.

While we've got the first song from the film, fans await the song sung by Vijay. It was previously revealed that Thalapathy would be crooning a song composed by Rahman for the movie. The news was confirmed by producer Archana Kalpathi who took to Twitter and revealed that Vijay will be going behind the microphone to sing a song titled 'Verithanam.'
