Athiran: Sai Pallavi and Fahad Faasil's starrer heads to Tollywood; Deets Inside
After winning the Malayalam box office, Sai Pallavi and Fahad Faasil starrer Athiran is set to wow the Telugu audience. The thriller movie is set in 1970 and is inspired by true events.
Sai Pallavi has found her way into Tollywood audience's hearts with two mesmerising movies. The actress, who shot to fame with her portrayal of Malar in Malayalam movie Premam, is no stranger to the Telugu film industry. The actress has worked on Fidaa and MCA which was loved by all. The actress now returns to the Telugu film industry with her recent Malayalam movie Athiran. No, the actress is not starring in a remake. Instead, the makers have decided to dub the Malayalam version and release it in Telugu. The film also stars Fahad Faasil.
After wooing Malayalam movie watchers, Athiran will try to work its charm in Tollywood. The Malayalam thriller movie won the box office at the time of its release. It aims at recreating the same success in Tollywood. For the unversed, the movie is set in 1970 and is inspired by true events. As per TeluguCinema.com, the movie's dubbing has begun and it won't be long before we have our hands on the trailer.
"The story is based on certain true incidents that happened in Kerala back in 1970. Both Prakash Raj and Atul Kulkarni are familiar to the Telugu audience. Ghibran, who is working on Prabhas' 'Saaho', has composed the background music. Dubbing works are currently going on. We are planning to release the movie in the last week of August. The Telugu trailer will be out soon," the producers said. It is reported that Jayanth Arts' AK Kumar and G Ravikumar are producing the new version.
The film is directed by Vivek and it also stars Renji Panicker, Leona Lishoy and Shanti Krishna in pivotal roles. Check out the Malayalam trailer below:
