Anushka Sharma reportedly approached to star in the Tamil remake of her 2018 film Pari

Bollywood actresses off late are being approached for lead roles down south. From Shraddha Kapoor to Kiara Advani, Bollywood stars have bagged some big budget projects in the Tamil film industry. Anushka Sharma's 2018 horror flim Pari being remade in Tamil has been the pipeline for quit sometime now. However, no new development has been announced for the film which was earlier going to feature South star Nayanthara. Now, according to a latest report, Anushka Sharma may soon join the ranks.
According to a Tamil news website, the makers of Pari down south are trying to get Anushka Sharma on board. No official statements have been made about the choice as yet but speculations have been rife. Earlier, a strong contender for the lead role was actress Nayanthara. However, she opted out of the film owing to various concerns. One of them was because she had already starred in a few horror flicks herself.
Anushka Sharma is one of the few actors from the younger generation who has taken risks and brought forward compelling stories with her production house like NH10.

With Pari, Anushka revived the horror genre in the Hindi film industry and after almost a decade, a scary movie starred an A-lister actor. Directed by Prosit Roy, the film did not break box office records but critics and movie buff lauded Anushka for trying something new and venturing into the genre.
