Akhil Akkineni is all set to start work on his fourth film with director Bommarillu Bhaskar. The actor's previous films Akhil and Hello did not do well at the box office. This time with his fourth film, Akhil Akkineni is being very careful with the subject and his character of the film. Akhil is coming together with Venky Atluri of ‘Tholi Prema’ fame. Akhil Akkineni's film ‘Mr. Majnu’ was a highly anticipated film but it could not perform at the box office.

Akhil’s upcoming film directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar is produced by Allu Aravind under the banner of Geetha Arts. A few months ago, the official pooja ceremony took place. This film is expected to be a family entertainer. The team of this film is still looking out for its female lead opposite Akhil Akkineni. Gopi Sunder has been brought on board to give the music direction for this film. Cinematographer V Manikandan of 'Om Shanti Om' fame will be taking charge of the camera.

There were reports suggesting that Kiara Advani or Rashmika Mandanna were being considered for the role. The latest news is that Akhil Akkineni has expressed his choice of female lead in Nivetha Pethuraj. The actor is keen to work with Nivetha Pethuraj in his next film. Bommarillu Bhaskar did his last film in Telugu called 'Ongole Githa’ with actor Ram Pothineni in 2013. A few years back, the director also made his debut in Kollywood with the Tamil remake of Bangalore Days called Bangalore Naatkal.
