After Samantha Akkineni, singer Chinamyi has slammed Sandeep Vanga’s defensive stand. Sandeep is being criticised online for controversial statements in defence of his film, Kabir Singh
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently made controversial statements defending his film Kabir Singh, starring Shahid Kapoor. The film, which is an official remake of Vijay Deverakonda’s Arjun Reddy, is being slammed for its misogyny and violent attitude towards women. In an interview with Anupama Chopra, post the release of Kabir Singh, Sandeep Reddy reacted to all the negative comments. However, his statements seem to have hit people in the wrong way. Samantha Akkineni called it “deeply disturbing’. After Sam, singer Chinamyi has slammed Sandeep Vanga’s defensive stand.
In a series of comments on her tweet regarding Sandeep Reddy’s controversial statements in defence, Chinmayi wrote, “If a man is deeply connected with you - He will NEVER LAY HIS HANDS ON YOU.He will NEVER slap you.He will NEVER TOUCH YOU without your consent.Women (and young boys) have been told for aeons that being beaten up is a sign of *Love* / *Discipline*. IT IS ABUSE!”
Chinmayi, who is quite vocal about everything on Twitter, further wrote, “I am in love. My husband loves me to bits. He didn’t have to hit me to prove that he is. Women stay in abusive marriages because men beat them up and then help them heal from the wounds that should have NEVER been there. Kids grow up in homes like this.”

“When you are deeply in love and deeply connected to a woman (and vice versa), if you don’t have the liberty of slapping each other, then I don’t see anything there,” the filmmaker had said during the interview.
