He went on to work as a child artist in films like Mr. India, Shahenshah and ChaalBaaz among others. It was at the age of 19 that he made his debut as an adult with Ram Gopal Varma's romantic musical Mast, opposite Urmila Matondkar.
The handsome actor has films such as Awara Paagal Deewana, Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, De Taali, Footpath, 1920: The Evil Returns, Players, Masti and Grand Masti to his credit. He was last seen on the big screen in Ashwini Chaudhary's crime thriller Setters, alongside Shreyas Talpade, Sonnalli Seygall, Vijay Raaz, Ishita Dutta, Pavan Malhotra, Jameel Khan and Pankaj Jha. Now, the actor is all set to make his debut in the Kannada film industry.
Aftab is currently in Bangalore to shoot for Kotigobba 3, in which he will be sharing the screen with South superstar Kichcha Sudeep. Opening up about the same in a recent interview with TOI, he shared, “Kotigobba 3 is my first tryst with the Kannada film industry. It is quite exciting, because Sudeep is a dear friend of mine. We have known each other for eight years now. We met during the celebrity T20 league where we played against each other. We hit it off and had this wonderful camaraderie. He used to tell me that I should work in the south. It never clicked, until this offer came my way and I was told that he was in it. He said it was an amazing role and insisted that I take it up.”
