South Africa vs Afghanistan, ICC World Cup 2019: Key players to watch out for
The Proteas will take on the Afghans today at Sophia Gardens Cricket Ground, Cardiff.
Both South Africa and Afghanistan are at the bottom of the points table and are yet to register their first win in the tournament. In their four matches of the tournament, the Proteas have lost three of them, while their previous match against the Windies was called off due to rain. On the other hand, Afghanistan has lost all the three matches they have encountered in this tournament. The teams will look forward to register their first win. Let’s have a look at their key players.
Rassie Van der Dussen (South Africa)- Whilst the South African team will miss Ab de Villiers in their on-going WC tournament, his replacement Rassie Van der Dussen has been quite effective in the batting line department. In the previous match played against Bangladesh, he scored a solid 41 off 38 deliveries with a strike rate of 107.89. In the first game against the hosts, where the team crumbled to mere 207 runs, Rassie managed to score a half century, being the second highest run-scorer for the Proteas. He provides the team a much needed stability in the middle order.

Mohammad Nabi (Afghanistan)- With an economy of only 3.33, Mohammad Nabi proved his impact in the game against Sri Lanka. Though Afghanistan lost that match against the Lankans by 34 runs, Nabi’s contribution to the team was exceptional. He took 4 wickets in his 9 over spell and gave only 30 runs. The team will depend highly on this player to tackle the brilliant batting line-up of the Proteas.
