Song Kang & Go Min Si, Lee Dong Wook & Yoon In Na: 4 favourite KDrama couples we REALLY wish were real!

Oh, how we wish some things were real. Like maybe us being friends with a KPop idol or coincidentally meeting them in an online game or at a place. But the ones we wish were real are the KDrama couples or yet-to-be couples! The Korean industry has given us major relationship goals and it keeps on increasing and going up a notch with every drama that is released! 

What's even a KDrama without a tingling, enticing chemistry between the two couples? Whether it's love or hate, the Korean industry always likes to go in deep. There have been so many couples in the incredible shows, which made me think, why not include to-be-couples? People who have impeccable chemistry can be our goals for being real life couples too! So in a list of four couples, I’ve taken two actual couples, and two (hopefully) to-be-couples! 

Let’s dive right in! 

1. Lee Dong Wook and Yoon In Na in "Goblin" and "Touch your Heart"

From the first moment I saw Lee Dong Wook and Yoon In Na, I knew my heart wanted them to turn out to be real life couples! They look good, they have an amazing chemistry, and moreover, look like they’re MADE for each other! Watching them is absolutely magical and their innocence in both the shows has us rooting for them even more. I fell in love with the couple the first time when I saw their characters’ painful love story in Goblin and jumped with excitement when I realised that there’s another drama starring them as a couple!

2. Hwang Jung Eum and Choi Won Young in Mystic Pop Up Bar 

*Spoiler Alert* I’ll start off by saying I knew they were a couple from the very beginning! The charming Choi Won Young is one of my favourite actors and I won’t have him be with anyone except Hwang Jung Eum. The funny bickering, Jung Eum's stares, Won Young beating others up and secretly being in love with her - my heart melts every time I think of them! Another set of lovers separated in the past life, repenting their sins in the modern world concept, Mystic Pop Up Bar’s lead couple is definitely relationship goal material. He stays with her till the end and protects her. She, on the other hand, lets him do as he wishes and respects him. Their bickering and falling in love (again) is *chef’s kiss*.

3. Song Kang and Go Min Si in Sweet Home

On the list of one of the best KDramas in 2021, Sweet Home has a special place of its own. Not at all a romantic story but more of a fantasy/action genre, the relationship between Cha Hyun Soo and Lee Eun Yoo is anything but ordinary. Everytime Eun Yoo’s character shows a small hint of caring for him, I melt. Even though there are clear hints they MIGHT be a couple, the fact that the show is taking its own time to grow each character is commendable. I’ve loved how the writers did not give in to the temptation of having a romantic couple and give the strong, struggling lead romance, too. Season 2’s filming and release stays undecided, but the cute little moments sprinkled in the drama with Song Kang’s expressive eyes, make my heart melt and really wishes to see them at least as an onscreen couple! 

4. Jeon Mi Do and Jo Jung Suk in Hospital Playlist

Fans (I’m one of them) have been eagerly waiting for Hospital Playlist’s Season 2 to see whether Jeon Mi Do’s character actually chooses her best friend Jo Jung Suk’s character or not. In a group of five friends, they both stand out indefinitely. The comfort that Mi Do’s character shares with Jung Suk and the cute, little moments of them caring for them - would need a list of its own! However, the characters and the actors definitely share a special connection. The way they pull off the scenes on screen even when *spoiler alert* Jung Suk’s character confesses his feelings for her, but like a gentleman, never overstepping his boundaries, makes me love him more. Reminiscing the moments of them always being together, there’s just something between the two actors that clicks and is so natural and appealing to watch!
