SKZ Hyunjin & MONSTA X's Kihyun apologise to fans & victims in light of bullying accusations
STRAY KIDS member Hyunjin and MONSTA X's Kihyun dedicated unconditional apology to their respective fans and victims, following the recent school violence controversy. Read on to find out the details.
This week has been a tough one for the KPop industry and their respective fandoms. From dating news to cheating accusations and school violence allegations, this week has seen it all. In recent times, STRAY KIDS member Hyunjin and MONSTA X's Kihyun were caught amidst serious school-violence allegations, by former classmates. The controversy caused a major amount of grief to their respective fans who stood tall alongside their favourite artists. After days of endless mudslinging and speculation, things seem to have been put to rest.
Regarding STRAY KIDS' Hyunjin‘s bullying allegations, JYP Entertainment released a statement on February 26. That's not all, Hyunjin took to the group's personal Instagram account and penned down a sincere apology to fans & victims. He expressed that he was ashamed of his past behaviour and didn't know any better back then. He offered a sincere apology to the victims who were hurt by his behaviour and promised to continue reflecting on the mistakes he made. He shared that he is humbled and grateful to those who agreed to meet him and accepted his apology in person. He ended the note with a sincere apology to STAY.
Regarding MONSTA X's Kihyun's bullying allegations, Starship Entertainment shared a detailed statement and student records refuting school violence rumours. Starship Entertainment revealed that Kihyun even met up with his former classmate, who wrote the post. The two had a sincere and honest chat with one another and sorted out any sort of misunderstanding between them. However, they did acknowledge that Kihyun may not have left the best impression on his former classmates and is deeply reflecting on his current character and how he can improve to become a person in the future.
Kihyun personally apologised to fans & victims via MONSTA X's official fan cafe. He confessed that he went through his memories and reflected upon his actions of the past. He shared some fond memories from his school days and also confessed that he wasn't the most ideal student back then. He shared that he wasn't faithful to his studies and feels guilty about it. He apologizes for causing disappointment through this issue and promised to live in deep self-reflection. He ended the note with a sincere apology to Monbebe.
