Shikhar Dhawan who suffered from a hairline fracture picks up bat for the first time post injury
Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out of the ICC World Cup 2019 tournament post his injury and was replaced by youngster Rishabh Pant.
Shikhar Dhawan is seen back with his bat in the nets for the first time ever since his finger injury that he suffered from in the middle of the ICC World Cup 2019 tournament. The Indian opening batsman posted a video on his Instagram account where he seen taking on the Bottle Cap challenge. He posted the video with the caption as, “Yuvi Paaji, here is my #BottleCapChallenge! This is the first time I am picking my bat up after my injury..feels good to be back! @yuvisofficial”

However, the Indian batsman was criticised by the public for wasting water and asked Dhawan to think about the scarcity of water faced by the country instead. However, Dhawan replied to all the criticism and commented, “Guys it was treated sewage water, which we use it to maintain ground. So jo paani gira woh dharti maa ney absorb kar liya #smart thinking”
Despite getting ruled out of the tournament, Dhawan managed to smash one century in the World Cup 2019 against Australia where the team claimed a victory by 36 runs. Dhawan scored 117 runs in that match in only 109 deliveries and was named the player of the match for his exceptional innings. However, during the innings he suffered from a hairline fracture in his finger and was later ruled out of the tournament; Rishabh Pant was called in as his replacement in the team. However, Indian batsman KL Rahul took charge of the team’s opening line-up along with Rohit Sharma in his absence.
