Sharib Hashmi speaks on his journey for ‘The Family Man 2’: My hopes soared after reading the script

‘The Family Man 2’ is making all the noises and has been getting some good reviews from both critics and the audiences at large. Certainly one of the most awaited second seasons of a web series in India, Manoj Bajpayee, Samantha Akkineni, Priya Mani, and Sharib Hashmi have been collecting accolades since the show went on air. Sharib Hashmi, who plays the loyal friend and subordinate called JK Talpade to Manoj Bajpayee’s Srikant Tiwari, speaks to Indian Express about the cliffhanger at the end of season one and how excited he became when he read the script for the second season.

Sharib speaks about reacting to the script of season two and said, “ When your first season becomes such a hit, things are on the edge. I was equally curious about a lot of things at the end of season one, just like the audience. The script of season two was so engaging, I read it in one go. The thrill element is very fast-paced this time with more action scenes. My hopes soared after reading the script and I knew then and there that we’ve got another winner. Like how the first season revived my career, its second season will take it to newer heights.”

The second season invited a central character called ‘Raji’ played by Samantha Akkineni, who is caught right at the center of geopolitical tension. JK and Srikant’s shenanigans put them in a place where they have to see some hardcore enemies and Samantha has seemingly lived up to the expectations. The Family Man season two is currently streaming on a leading OTT platform.
