Sachin Tendulkar wants Team India to pick Bhuvneshwar Kumar ahead of Mohammed Shami, Here's the reason
Sachin Tendulkar reveals the reason as to why he would want Team India to pick Bhuvneshwar Kumar ahead of Mohammed Shami for the game against West Indies.
Team India will take on West Indies in the 6th game of their ICC World Cup 2019 campaign on 27th June at Old Trafford, Manchester. With images and videos of Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowling in the indoor nets have started doing the rounds on the internet, it would be interesting to see as to what the Team Indian think-tank does.
Here's the video:
Sachin Tendulkar has come up with a suggestion for this, " I would go for Bhuvi if he is fit, purely because of his ability to swing the ball. He can trouble the West Indies top-order with his swing," He told the official broadcasters.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, picked up a hamstring injury midway through the game against Pakistan at Old Trafford, Manchester. It was all-rounder Vijay Shankar who took the responsibility of completing his quota of overs. With Bhuvi slowly regaining fitness it was Mohammed Shami who replaced him in the game against Afghanistan. He impressed one and all with his bowling performance as he picked up a four-wicket haul which included a hat-trick in the final over of the game.
Going by the looks of it, in spite of picking up a hat-trick in the previous game, Mohammed Shami might not find a place in the playing eleven.
After the game against West Indies, Team India will take on hosts England at Birmingham on 30th June. They must need to win at least two of the remaining four games to enter into the semi-finals and have a shot at the coveted trophy for the second time.
