Sachin Tendulkar names his World Cup XI; MS Dhoni does not find a place
Sachin Tendulkar picked four all-rounders in his World Cup XI, with Ravindra Jadeja as the lone spinner.
Sachin Tendulkar picked five Indians in his World Cup XI, with New Zealand skipper Kane Willaimson leading his side. The five Indians he chose were Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah.
While opener Rohit was the highest run-getter of the edition with 648 runs which included with five tons, Jadeja made a mark in a pressure game in the semis, scoring a fine 77 in only 59 deliveries after India had been reduced to 92 for 6, chasing 240 for a win.
The other picks in his team were Shakib Al Hasan, who made 606 runs and scalped 11 wickets to end as one of the best all-rounder's of the edition. The other all-rounder's in the side beside Jadeja, Shakib and Pandya was England's Ben Stokes, who was the Player of the Match in England's epic final win over New Zealand.
Australian pacer Mitchell Starc, who finished with 27 wickets in the event found a place too, as did Jofra Archer who picked up 20 wickets and kept his nerves in the Super Over in the finals.
Jonny Bairtsow was enlisted as the wicket-keeper of the team, and he opens the batting along with Rohit.
