Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah in ICC Team of World Cup 2019; Virat Kohli misses out

The ICC named their World Cup XI today, with only two Indians making the list. As many as four English players found a place in the team that is captained by Kane Williamson.

Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah made it into the ICC's Team of the World Cup 2019, while New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson was the captain of the side. The International Cricket Council named the World Cup Team on Twitter earlier today, with only two Indians making the list. Virat Kohli misses out. 

Rohit finished the event as the leading run-scorer as he smashed 5 tons to end with over 640 runs. His teammate Bumrah ended the edition with 18 wickets and impressed with his economical bowling in the death. 

Explosive opener Jason Roy from England was named as the second opener alongside Rohit. The Englishman scored 443 runs at a strike rate of over 115, and was the go-to man for his team in crucial games. 

Williamson, described as the "bedrock" of New Zealand's batting throughout the edition was named the Player of the World Cup, and also found a place in the World Cup Team of the Tournament. He scored 578 runs and captains the side. 

Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer are the three other English players in the ICC XI. They are accompanied by Shakib Al Hasan, who is slotted at number 5, Australia's Alex Carey, who is the wicket-keeper of the team and his Aussie teammate Mitchell Starc, who finished with 27 wickets and was on fire throughout the edition. 

New Zealand's Trent Boult is the 12th man.
