BTS made headlines a few months back when they not only spoke openly against racial discrimination but even donated USD 1 million to the Black Lives Matter movement. "We stand against racial discrimination. We condemn violence. You, I and we all have the right to be respected. We will stand together. #BlackLivesMatterFurthermore, they've also donated to other important causes on social issues," the members had tweeted back then.

But, what is BTS' views on politics and do they consider themselves as being political? This question was posed at the septet during their interview with Variety. Starting things off, we had Suga who stated that BTS don't consider themselves as political and that they're not trying to send out some grandiose message. They see BTS ARMY as a conduit for their voice or their opinion. Yoongi reiterates that ARMY speaks their own initiatives and that they always respect the fandom's opinions as they respect any other person's.

On the other hand, BTS leader RM also disclosed that BTS are not political figures. However, Namjoon added that everything is political eventually. "Even a pebble can be political," Joonie concluded.
