PM Narendra Modi Mid Movie Review: Vivek Oberoi attempts to tell an 'inspirational' tale

You wouldn't need a rose tinted glasses to see PM Modi for it has a tint of its own. The movie stars Vivek Oberoi in the lead and attempts to tell the tale of India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The movie released just in time to make it look like a celebration of the PM Modi's victory. The first half just concluded and here's how the movie has been so far.

The movie tells the tale of India's Prime Minister aka BJP leader and his struggles. We meet junior Modi, the chaiwaala, and understand that he was a born leader who is empathetic and futuristic.

We follow his journey from choosing a life of a brahmachari to playing a key catalyst in several historic events involving Indira Gandhi and setting up the base for BJP in Gujurat. The first half covers Modi's journey to becoming the Chief Minister of Gujarat and events thereafter. This includes the controversial Gujarat riots.

I'm not going to comment on the justification behind the incidents or events of the first half. Instead, I'm going to talk about the making of this movie. Vivek Oberoi is a good actor. We've seen him pull off some good roles in the past. This could be counted as a decent role as well. But Modi has to be credited for it. While he embraces Modi patriotism, he doesn't adapt his characteristics. If he's playing someone in a biopic, he needs to remind us more of him. But Oberoi doesn't. Had that been in place, the movie could've reached a different scale.

The script is weak. The story means intends on portraying that Modi was the catalyst in several crucial milestones of BJP, making the politician the ultimate hero of the world of politics. There is more justification needed to several incidents. The first half is hotchpotch and it's hard to ignore director OmungKumar constant attempt to make Modi, or in this case Oberoi a star.

We'll have to wait and how the second half unfolds.
