Ravi Shastri praises Kane Williamson’s composure and dignity post the ICC World Cup 2019 Final
Indian cricket team’s head coach, Ravi Shastri appreciated Kane Williamson for his graceful and dignified manner of accepting defeat in the World Cup final.
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has been bagging words of appreciation and praises from all around the world post the team’s unfortunate defeat in the final against England. The skipper’s remarkable and composed behaviour despite defeat was extremely refreshing on the part of New Zealand. However, this time, it was the Indian head coach, Ravi Shastri who appreciated the New Zealand skipper and said that his dignified grace and the silence since last 48 hours is simply remarkable.
Shastri posted a picture of the New Zealand skipper with the legendary Indian batsman, Sachin Tendulkar and tweeted as, “Your composure and dignity viewing the sequence of events was remarkable. Your dignified grace and silence 48 hours since is simply remarkable. We know you have one hand on that WC. You not just Kane. You Kane and Able. God bless. #CWC19”.
Even though, the Black Caps were unable to claim their first ever World Cup title, the team has gained utmost respect of the fans and has shown immense growth throughout the tournament. The two times consecutive World Cup finalist gave a tough fight to the hosts and lost on the basis of number of boundaries scored.
Skipper, Kane Williamson was also awarded with the Player of the Tournament award for his brilliant cricket throughout the World Cup. With an average of 82.57, he scored a brilliant 578 runs in the entire World Cup tournament and also proved to be the most reliable batsman for the team along with his calm and composed captaincy.
