Rashid Khan was mocked and trolled by fans on social media after bowling the most expensive spell in the history of the World Cup against the hosts.

Afghanistan cricketer, Rashid Khan conceded 110 runs in his 9 over spell which led him to a bowling economy of 12.22. The number 3 ODI bowler in the world and the best in T20 became the bowler to bowl the most expensive spell in the entire tournament. He was mocked by fans and Iceland cricket, to which several cricketers came to his defence.

In an exclusive interview with PTI on the eve of their match against India, Rashid revealed that he is not thinking too much about that match. He added that people forget 10 good days and conveniently remember that one particular bad day and they don’t like to remember what Rashid did in the previous 10 days.

Rashid said that he would focus on the mistakes he committed in that match and would like to rectify those mistakes. There is no point in thinking about the criticism, he said.

When asked about his relationship with Gulbadin Naib post the change of their captaincy, he said that neither does he plays for Gulbadin, nor the cricket board. He plays for Afghanistan. He made is pretty clear that there is no problem in his relation with Gulbadin and he supports him now as much as he did when Asghar Afghan was the Captain.

Accepting the faults in their bowling line-up, Rashid khan said that the team has been struggling in pace bowling department and need to do more as far as their bowling is concerned. He also added that the team needs proper 140 kph plus bowlers in such conditions and they might not get it in a year, it will take some time.
