Former Indian skipper, Rahul Dravid who is also the coach of the under 19 Indian cricket team is all set to take up the charge at NCA.

Rahul Dravid will be seen taking up the charge at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore from July 1st. It is believed that the former Indian coach has signed a two years contract as NCA’s head of cricket and will be seen grooming the young cricketers for junior cricket.

Rahul Dravid’s responsibilities as the Head of Cricket will include appointing the coaching staff at NCA and the zonal cricket academies. He will also take the charge of monitoring the upcoming women cricketers.

However, this added responsibility will not allow the Indian stalwart to travel with the India A and under 19 teams like to used to previously. He will be required to spend more time at NCA than at with the Indian junior teams. However, Paras Mhambrey and Abhay Sharma will still remain a part of the junior steam support staff like they used to be.

A BCCI official told PTI after the Committee of Administrators (CoA) meeting that, "Rahul Dravid will travel with India A and U-19 teams but not for the entirety of the tour. It is a much bigger responsibility and it will require him to spend more time at NCA than with the junior teams,"

"Mhambrey and Sharma will continue to be with A and U-19 team for now. Though we are looking to bolster the coaching staff," he added.

Recently there were issue of conflict of interest order that was passed by the BCCI ethics officer and , DK Jain to former Indian cricketers, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly. The duo was asked to make a choice as being a member of Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) or the mentor of their respective IPL Franchise. When asked about this issue, the official said that they will examine the order and take the opinion of their legal team.
