Pledis Entertainment shares updates about bullying allegations against SEVENTEEN's Mingyu
Pledis Announcement had made yet another statement regarding the latest bullying allegations against SEVENTEEN's Mingyu.
Back in February, a post surfaced claiming SEVENTEEN's Mingyu as part of a group of delinquents during middle school. Shortly after that another post came into the spotlight accusing the artist of sexual harassment. The writer was a classmate who attended the same after-school academy as him. According to the netizen, he was with a group of students who would bully her and make sexual remarks around her.The artist's agency had released a statement regarding the bullying accusations on February 28. Pledis Entertainment released a new post on March 12, after follow-ups with the writer who accused Mingyu of sexual harassment.
According to their statement, they have "resolved misunderstandings regarding the matter and mutually agreed to conclude the situation". Mingyu has agreed to the part about "fooling" around with some male classmates but he also claimed to not have intentionally caused humiliation to any specific individual. He also expressed his apology for making the original poster feel uncomfortable. Additionally, the agency has contacted people whose identities could be confirmed and has verified the facts from posts of writers whose identities could not be confirmed.
Following the release, fans have been quick to show their support for the artist and express their anger against the accusers. They have been commending the agency for a job well done in protecting their artist.
