“Following his phenomenal show in the past two seasons, Team India captain Virat Kohli will be presented with the prestigious Polly Umrigar Award for the best international cricketer (2016-17 and 2017-18) at the BCCI Awards to be held in Bengaluru on June 12,” the BCCI had stated.
Virat scored 1332 runs in 13 games in 2016-17 and 896 runs in 2017-18. BCCI official twitter handle had posted, “POLLY UMRIGAR AWARD for 2016-17 season goes to #TeamIndia Skipper @imVkohli at #NAMAN.#BCCIAwards”
At the ceremony, Anushka Sharma couldn’t stop beaming with pride as Virat Kohli collected his award. ““My wife’s here today, so it’s more special. The Awards didn’t happen last year, but I am glad they didn’t, as she is here today,” Virat said on-stage while collecting the award. He also thanked his team-mates.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli returned to the city. Anushka kept it casual in a white tee and checkered pant, which she teamed with a denim jacket. Virat looked smart in a formal shirt and trouser. The couple returned to the city after the event.
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma tied the knot in a dreamy ceremony on December 11, 2017 in Tuscany, Italy in the presence of close friends and family.
