Deepika Padukone has been on a promotional spree for her upcoming film, Padmavati. The film was slated to release on 1^st December, 2017 but has now been postponed.The makers of the film are yet to announce the new release date.

Deepika Padukone is today in Amravati for Social Media Summit and Awards. She looked elegant as she sported a stunning green saree. Deepika tied her hair in a bun and sported exquisite jewelry. Check out the pic!

Deepika is being conferred with the ‘Most popular Indian actress on social media’ award at the summit organised at Amaravati. A source had earlier told a leading daily, “The actress has confirmed that she will come to Amaravathi to receive the award.”

About the film, Deepika had said in an interview with a leading daily, “When you work on a film like Padmavati, it deserves that kind of time. There are a lot of sacrifices there too. It is the sacrifice of giving up other films, it is the sacrifice of so many things. It is the sacrifice of giving up a social life; of family time. But when I see the result it is all worth it. I'm not excited about the number of films I might have in a particular year. Those films must be meaningful and they must impact.”

About the protests against the film, Deepika had said in the interview, “As a woman, as an artiste, as someone who has worked and given two years of my life to this movie, I feel hurt, I feel angry, but I also think it is extremely funny that people are reacting like this to a film. I am feeling so many emotions at this point.”
