Vidya won Filmfare's Best Actress award last year for her sweet and fantastic portrayal of Sulu in the film Tumhari Sulu.
On the professional front, she will play the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi onscreen in a project based on journalist-author Sagarika Ghose's book 'Indira: Indias Most Powerful Prime Minister'.
"I am happy to have acquired the rights to Sagarika Ghose's ‘Indira...', because I have always wanted to play Indira Gandhi. I haven't decided yet whether it should be a film or a web series, but that will take a while anyway," Vidya had said.
On the other hand, Aditi has received a lot of appreciation for her brief yet powerful role as Mehrunisa in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic drama Padmaavat. "I never expected so much praise for such a brief role. But then Sanjay sir had told me I'd be happy with my role. I am not just happy. I am overjoyed. The response has been tremendous. And I can see why. My character Mehrunisa comes across as the only source of positivity that's pure and honest in Khilji's life," she had said.
The actress further said, "That's Sanjay sir's decision to give me that respect because of the limited footage I had. While shooting also I felt I was hardly there since I was hardly called to shoot. I never realised until I saw the film what a brilliant director can do to a character even in the limited space provided by the plot."
