Tiger Shroff, who is basking in the success of his last release Baaghi 2, has started shooting for his upcoming film - Student of The Year 2. Produced by Karan Johar, the film went on floors on Monday at Dehradun’s St. Teresa High School.

On the first day of the shoot, Tiger posed with the clapperboard of the film that read the following message from the film’s director Punit Malhotra, “Tiger My Brother You’re The Best Student.’’

In another picture, Tiger posed with the clapperboard with a message from Karan Johar saying, ‘’Welcome To SOTY Tiger, You Will Totally Kill It.’’

Its an absolute privilege to help @punitdmalhotra sir take the franchisee forward. Thank you for the opportunity @karanjohar sir and @dharmamovies! Loads of love! #day1 #SOTY2

Karan also took to his Twitter account today to announce that details of the final cast will be announced on April 11, 2018. He wrote, ‘’The student journey begins again!!!! #SOTY2 ! The announcement of the final cast on Wednesday the 11th!!!! Watch this space....break a leg @punitdmalhotra @iTIGERSHROFF @DharmaMovies @apoorvamehta18 @foxstarhindi.’’

Chunky Pandey’s daughter Ananya and dancer Tara Sutaria are rumored to play female leads in the film.

Talking about the film, Tiger had told a leading news agency, "I don’t have much action in the film (Student of the Year 2). I didn’t choose it to break the stereotype. It was an honour to work with Dharma Productions. It is Karan Johar’s baby franchise, his priced possession and he is passing it on to me, so there’s an expectation. I take huge pride in taking the legacy forward of Student of the Year."

"For me, it’s great as an actor to explore different facets. I’ve never played a regular, normal lover boy. It’s like a musical. If I get bullied there, the audience will be surprised. Suddenly after Baaghi 2, here I am getting bullied. So for me, that’s scoring marks," added the actor.
