Talking about Janhvi's debut film Dhadak, the film is an adaptation of Marathi film Sairat which was directed by Nagraj Manjule. It starred Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar in the leads roles.
Dhadak is directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar. The film opened to a positive response from the audience as well as the critics. The film earned Rs 33 crore at the box office in its first weekend.
About the positive response to the film, Janhvi Kapoor told Hindustan Times earlier that the love she has been receiving is overwhelming. She said that it feels good that their film has managed to move people with the message they were trying to convey. The actor said that she is happy with any form of acceptance and this positive response will give her a chance to work and do better in the future.
Remembering her mom, she said that Sridevi was a creatively fuelled person, emotional and sensitive. She stated that it was vibrant energy to have her mom around and her knowledge of cinema and acting is unparalleled.
