Varun Dhawan, who is busy shooting for Sui Dhaaga in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, had an accident on the sets.  According to a report in a leading tabloid, the actor insisted on shooting for a fight sequence himself, without using a body double, and ended up injuring himself.

According to a source, Varun was shooting for a sequence in which his character, Mauji, gets involved in a street brawl. In one part of the scene, he had to roll down a flight of stairs. Although director Sharat Katariya tried to dissuade Varun, he was determined to not take the help of a body double.

A source from the sets had told the tabloid, "The director clearly told Varun of the risk involved in the scene and tried to dissuade him from attempting the stunt. But Varun was adamant. Unfortunately, while filming, one of the steps in the staircase gave way and in the process, he sustained injuries on his head, including a gash on the forehead."

The shoot was immediately halted, and Varun was treated for his injuries. The actor has now recovered from injuries. He took to his Instagram story and shared a picture of himself resting on bed followed by another picture which read, ‘’I’m totally good.’’

Sui Dhaaga is the first time that Varun Dhawan will be paired with Anushka Sharma. Set in small-town India, the film will have Varun playing a tailor, while Anushka will play an embroiderer.

Talking about the film, Varun had earlier said, “From Gandhiji (Mahatma Gandhi) to Modiji (Prime Minister Narendra Modi), our country’s leaders have always endorsed the ideology of Made in India. With our film, I am proud to take their message to millions of people in a relevant manner.”
