Sridevi was not only a talented actor, but she was also an avid painter. Sridevi’s passing away has been a huge loss and has left a void. She passed away on February 24, 2018 after accidentally slipping in the bath-tub of her hotel in Dubai.

Sridevi was given a fitting farewell today with fans and well-wishers bidding her a final goodbye. Her last rites took place today and Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and other celebrities stood by the family at the crematorium.

Sridevi loved to paint and had been pursuing this hobby over the last few years. In a recent interview she had said that she has made a painting with Salman Khan. “I have a few of his paintings, which he gifted me. We both made one painting together, which I think he has. He’s so creative and talented,” she had said.

Sridevi was in the UAE to attend the wedding festivities of nephew Mohit Marwah, post which she had reportedly extended her trip to attend an auction of her paintings. “Sridevi has been painting for many years. It’s her favourite pastime. In 2010, an international art house approached her to auction her work. But she didn't agree. Since the event in Dubai is for a noble cause, it drew her,” a source had earlier revealed to a tabloid.

Sridevi had painted Sonam Kapoor’s portrait from her film Saawariya. This painting was one of the few that was going to be auctioned in Dubai. The painting was expected to fetch about Rs. 8-10 lakhs.
