Sonam Kapoor at Sahachari Foundation's Design One exhibition
Sahachari Foundation inaugurated the second edition of Design One 2012 – an exhibition promoting upcoming designers and women entrepreneurs. The exhibition was launched by renowned Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor.
The Design One 2012 provided a glamorous sneak peek of the latest trends for the upcoming spring summer season . The participating designers included celebrated names such as Shivan Narresh, Amrich, Atsu, Pero by Aneeth, Surily Goel, Kavita Banerjee, Divya Mohta, Trupti Herman, Avni Bhuva, Nikasha Tawdey , En Inde, Sonali Dalwani, Falguni Mehta, Abha Dalmia, Nikasha Tawdey, Nidhi Tolia, Bina Goenka and Cherie D.
Seen at the event admiring the stunning garments and supporting the cause were Delhi's glitteratti Aishwarya Nair, Shalini Passi, Roshni Vadehra, Rimple Lohia, Tanya Ahuja, Namrata Bhartia, Divya Gurwara, Promila Bahri, Sujata Assomull, Sangeeta Assomull, Vivek Nair, Priya Paul, Shireen Paul, Kallie Purie to name a few. The event also saw representatives from the Egyptian and Kuwait Embassies come out in support of the Sahachari Foundation.
Design One is the brainchild of the ladies ofSahachari Foundation. The group of dynamic ladies consists of: Lakshmi Nair, MalaGoenka, Gauri Pohoomul, Sheela Bhogilal, Brinda Khatau, Pallavi Kanoria,Minakshi Bajaj, Madhu Ruia, Nilima Kilachand, Daksha Mehta and Parul Choksey.Smeeta Parekh contributes as Advisor; Bijal Meswani, Amrita Kilachand,Amruda Nair and Pooja Singhal as Associate members; Karuna Rajan and ShreyasiGoenka as Special Invitees. The motivational factors behind theinitiative are to acknowledge the extraordinary talent that resides in creativedesigners, and to raise funds for deserving NGOs such as Victoria MemorialSchool for the Blind, Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Apne AapWomen’s Collective – a shelter for children of sex workers in Mumbai, St. JudeIndia Childcare Centres and Muktangan.
