Sidharth will be next seen in the biopic on Kargil martyr, Param Vir Chakra winner Captain Vikram Batra.
Talking about why it took the actor so long to sign a biopic, Sidharth had said, “A biopic needs to mean something,” he says. “As an actor, I need to feel the connect. A biopic is not a fictitious story. It is based on a real person and I think one needs to handle that with a lot of sensitivity. The character that I’ll be playing next is very sensitive and his story is also quite touching. When I was approached for the film, and they spoke to me about the character, I felt it means a lot to me and I have so much respect for him.”
We have learnt from a source that the biopic, titled Kargil: Sher Shah, has been pushed. Instead of prepping for this movie, Malhotra will first begin work on the Ekta Kapoor film. Informs a source, “Sidharth Malhotra is having a rough phase at the box office. While A Gentleman and Aiyaary tanked at the ticket window, Ittefaq just about managed decently. Hence getting into the shoes of a personality like Vikram Batra is a huge responsibility. For the same, the actor needs more time. Therefore the team has put the movie on hold and Malhotra instead will begin work on Ekta’s film soon.”
