Bollywood celebrities celebrate the festival of Janmashthami
Every year thousands of Krishna devotees celebrate the special occasion of Janmashthami. It is said that Lord Krishna was born at midnight on the 'eighth day' or the 'Ashtami' of the month of Shravana. It is an auspicious occasion where family and friends get together.
Bollywood is said to be a pot-pouri of different cultures. Film Stars always wish their followers and are together to celebrate each festival. Many celebrities attend the Dahi-Handi Festival and make their presence felt amongst the crowds. Last year Ranbir Kapoor also attended the Dahi-Handi celebration. Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Lata Mangeshkar had tweeted their wishes to their followers.
Director and Choreographer Farah Khan’s daughter celebrated Janmasthami in a special way. She was all decked up to participate in a school event. Farah is a proud mom of Diva, Anya and Czar.Before the birth of her triplets, Farah had said , “I am hoping that by the time my kids grow up, religion is going to be outdated. My dad never forced us to say namaaz, and my mum never forced us to go to the Firetemple. The choice was ours. My children will have the same freedom. I want what all parents want their children to be — happy, honest and independent. It’s the best we can do.”
Farah has been judging reality shows like Nach Baliye, Comedy Nights Bachao and most recently Indian Idol 7. Husband Shirish Kunder on the other hand has turned into a columnist and is tickling people’s funny bones!
