Shahid Kapoor starts shooting for Batti Gul Meter Chalu with 'good people' in Uttarakhand, see PICS

Shahid Kapoor will next be seen in Batti Gul Meter Chalu. In the film, Shahid will be playing the role of a lawyer for the very first time in his career. The film went on floors today in Uttarakhand. 

The actor today took to his Instagram account to share pictures from the sets of the film. In one of the pictures, Shahid is seen riding a bike and is looking extremely handsome in a blue jacket and black denim. He styled his look with sunglasses. Shahid captioned the image saying, ‘’Day 1. On set. Batti Gul meter Chalu. Here we go. #goodpeople#goodvibes.’’

In the other picture, he is seen reading the script and laughing his heart out. He looks extremely adorable in the photo. He captioned it as, ‘’MAJJA.’’

Meanwhile, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Batti Gul Meter Chalu's director Shree Narayan Singh spoke about Shahid and said, "Shahid is fantastic. He liked the idea and when he met me and he agreed for the movie within five minutes. Our equation is really good. Shahid is playing a lawyer in the film."
 
Talking about the film Shahid had told a leading daily, ‘’Shree Narayan Singh, who earlier made Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, will be directing this film. Toilet was also about a social issue, and this time he chose an issue on electricity. So it’s a relatable subject. I’m excited to start with this new project.Now thatPadmaavat has released, it’s out of my system. I can move on. I was stuck on Padmaavat all this while.”

Yami Gautam will be working with Shahid in the film. Talking about Shahid, she had recently said, ‘’Where he has reached today is a product of how hard he has worked. He was brilliant in Padmaavat. I have heard things about him from his co-stars and directors that he gets into the character. Someone praises me for my character, it is impossible without the synergy of my co-actor. I cannot work in isolation. Had I not got support and energy from Hrithik, I would not have been able to pull off Kaabil. So, looking forward to it.’’ 

Batti Gul Meter Chalu is slated to release on August 31, 2018.
