Section 377 Verdict: Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh express their happiness by donning rainbow outfits
Today, after the Supreme Court of India decriminalised Section 377, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh expressed their happiness through Instagram posts.
Today, India is celebrating the Supreme Court's unanimous decision of decriminalising Section 377. The Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra while giving the verdict stated, "LGBT Community has same rights as of any ordinary citizen. Respect for individual choice is the essence of liberty; the LGBT community possesses equal rights under the constitution. Criminalising gay sex is irrational and indefensible." Since the time the announcement was made, the whole nation rejoiced and expressed their happiness on social media pages.
Moreover, even Bollywood celebrities lauded SC's decision and shared their happiness in the sweetest and the most beautiful way. Deepika Padukone took to her Instagram story and shared a Boomerang video where she is jumping with joy wearing a rainbow outfit. Deepika also shared the pride sign in the form of a heart as her Instagram post honouring the amazing decision. Even Ranveer Singh shared a video on his Instagram page donning a rainbow printed outfit and said, "ONE LOVE #377verdict"

Speaking of Section 377, the 158-year-old colonial law considered "carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal a natural offence" and were to be punished by up to 10 years in jail under the 1861 law.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranveer will next be seen in Rohit Shetty's Simmba and the film will release on December 28, 2018.
