Sanju: Ranbir Kapoor or Sanjay Dutt? The new poster will leave you surprised
Rajkumar Hirani has been releasing a new look of Ranbir Kapoor as Sanju every day and this time around it is Sanjay Dutt's look from the jail term in 2013.
If there is one movie which everyone has their eyes set on, it is the forthcoming biopic on Sanjay Dutt titled Sanju. The movie starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role has been directed by Rajkumar Hirani, a man with a 100% record at the box office.
As promised, Hirani has been releasing a new look of Ranbir as Sanju every day and this time around it is Sanjay Dutt's look from the jail term in 2013. He wrote, "I met #Sanju in Jail in 2013. Recreation of how he looked then. #RanbirKapoor #RajkumarHiraniFilms @VVCFilms @foxstarhindi."

Meanwhile, speaking about Sanju, in the teaser, Ranbir as Sanjay gives us a small glimpse into his colourful and controversial journey. With a tinge of humour and hinting at the dark phases of Dutt's life, leaving no stones unturned (including his jail term), we are asked to buckle up our seatbelts for an adventure-filled ride.
Talking about Ranbir, Hirani told DNA, "I had a basic draft of this biopic when I sent Ranbir a message, ‘I’ve a script, let’s meet up when you’re free.’ Ranbir is usually aware of everything that is happening in the industry. He is very sharp. I’m guessing he already knew that I was planning a biopic on Sanjay. When I sent him the message, Ranbir promptly replied, ‘I hope it’s not the Sanjay Dutt biopic.’ And I thought, ‘Oh God, maybe he has heard and he may not want to do it.’ I told him it’s the same script, but let’s meet. When I met him, I realised he knew a lot about Sanju. He had spent time with him and knew him well. He used to work out at his gym and had probably heard the stories. But when he saw the angle of the story, he was like, ‘It’s interesting, let’s do it.’"
Sanju releases on June 29, 2018.
