Sacred Games: A part to be deleted after a plea filed against Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Anurag Kashyap & others
Sacred Games stars Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte in the lead roles. The show is directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane.
Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane gave India's first ever original Netflix series titled Sacred Games. The show is based on the book of the same name written by author Vikram Chandra.
Sacred Games stars Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi, Radhika Apte and other talented actors. It is streaming online from July 6, 2018.
The show has been receiving a good response from the critics all over the world. Even the audience is mind-blown by the twists and gripping nature of the web series.
Well, as the show's crux is built on a religious and political angle, it also showed former PM Rajiv Gandhi's involvement in the Bofors scam. This didn't go well with some of the Congress party people and hence, they filed a plea in Delhi High court against Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Phantom Productions, Vikramaditya Motwane, Anurag Kashyap and Govt of India for derogatory and abusive remarks against Late PM Rajiv Gandhi. As tweeted by ANI, the plea seeks to stay on the steaming of that particular episode. However, the makers are told to delete the scenes mentioning former PM Rajiv Gandhi.
The tweets by ANI reads, "A plea has been moved in Delhi High Court against Netflix, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Phantom Productions, Vikram Motwani, Anurag Kashyap & Govt of India for derogatory & abusive remarks against former PM Rajiv Gandhi in an episode of 'Sacred Games'"
Another tweet reads, "Plea seeks stay on streaming of an episode of 'Sacred Games' and deletion of a particular part of the episode containing derogatory & abusive remarks against former PM Rajiv Gandhi."
