Richa Chadda, Kalki Koechlin, Taapsee Pannu, Varun Sharma and Manjot Singh were today clicked by the paparazzi at Victoria and Abdul’s screening which stars Ali Fazal in a pivotal role.
Richa looked stylish as ever in a black outfit. She was all smiles as she posed for the cameras. The actress is rumoured to be dating Ali Fazal in her real life. She had accompanied her "Fukrey" co-star to the premiere of "Victoria & Abdul" at the 74th Venice International Film Festival. While talking about her relationship, she once said, ‘’ "People are writing shit on my social media accounts like love jihad and all that nonsense, so I find it really humorous. We are not Barack Obama (former US President) or Michelle Obama to make our relationship public. We are just two humble actors. So, I don't think anyone cares about it. But the fact that I took a trip to Venice to be with him... I think that says something.’’
Talking about Kalki, she looked gorgeous in a white floral print crop top and skirt. Kalki is currently gearing up for her next movie titled Ribbon which also stars Sumeet Vyas in a lead role. Taapsee, on the other hand, looked adorable in black top and skirt. Her last outing was Judwaa 2, which also starred Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles.
Ali Fazal looked royal as ever in a navy blue kurta and pyjama. Talking about the movie, it beautifully captures the budding friendship between Queen Victoria (played by Dame Judi Dench) and Abdul Karim (played by Ali Fazal), a young clerk from India. Their dialogues are quite relatable and the movie has a good vibe to it.
What really is heartwarming to see is Queen learning Hindi and Urdu from Abdul to finally finding a confidante and political advisor in him.
With this, Ali has become the first Indian actor to have been featured in a Hollywood project in a titular role.
Speaking on the launch of the trailer, Ali had said, "It was a surreal moment to bag this role and that too when I got selected for the film over some of my peers who were in consideration for the same role, especially those whom I look up to and whose work I admire. Shooting for this film was a milestone in the short career I have had so far. I did a small cameo in 3 Idiots and then came the bigger roles in Bollywood, I did Furious 7 with a cameo and now a lead in Victoria and Abdul is a sweet coincidence. Working with Judi, Stephen, Micheal Gambon, Eddie and such an amazing team was more than what I could have asked for."
