Ranveer Singh and Kabir Khan are all smiles for the paparazzi at a birthday bash, see PICS

Ranveer Singh and filmmaker Kabir Khan were today clicked at a birthday bash by the shutterbugs. 

The two posed for the pictures together and were in a cheerful mood. Ranveer opted for a black tee and green track pants. He rounded his look with white sunglasses and a cap.

Ranveer Singh will be next seen in Kabir Khan's directorial 83, which is based on India’s first Cricket World Cup win in 1983. The film will feature him in the shoes of none other than the cricket legend and former captain of the Indian cricket team, Kapil Dev. In a previous interview, Ranveer had said that the film is "more than a great cricket story, it is a great human story."

Talking about Ranveer, Kabir had said, ''Audience knows he is Ranveer and he is going to play the role of Kapil Dev in the film. Today, there is technology to make Ranveer look exactly like him, but that is not the attempt.He needs to get the persona of Dev and yet retain his identity as Ranveer. We want the audience to see and enjoy Ranveer playing Dev.''

''It is a simple brief to Ranveer. He just has to see Kapil Dev playing the game. The iconic body language of Kapil Dev, the way he used to bowl, bat. He (Dev) is monitoring it (training),” he added.

Ranveer is also busy shooting for Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy, which is based on the lives of street rappers. About Gully Boy, Ranveer had said, “This is my first feature film with Alia Bhatt, my second with Zoya Akhtar… two extremely talented people. It’s a space never explored before, a space I relate to. I’ve a special place in my heart for Hip Hop. It’s a story of underdogs - these two kids, who grow up in tough conditions only to find expression in art and music. I believe it could have only been me in this role. Rapping has been a side skill ever since school.”
