Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan attend a special screening of Sanju

A special screening of Ranbir Kapoor’s next film, Sanju was hosted in the city today. The film directed by Rajkumar Hirani is slated to hit the theatres on this Friday. The movie chronicles Sanjay Dutt’s life from his debut film to his days in the jail. The film also stars Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Dia Mirza, Manisha Koirala, Anushka Sharma and Sonam Kapoor.

The makers convinced Sanjay Dutt to watch the film before release. “Ranbir wanted Sanjay to watch the film before it hits screens on Friday. After much persuasion, Dutt finally relented. The private screening will take place at producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra's office today. Sanjay will be present with wife Maanayata, and sisters Namrata and Priya. Invites have been sent to Ranbir's parents too,” a source had informed Mid-Day.

At the special screening today, Ranbir Kapoor looked dapper. He opted for a black sweatshirt and blue rugged denim. Sanjay Dutt also watched the film for the first time. He had said that it will be surreal for him to watch the film.

Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan also arrived for the special screening of the film. Mahesh Bhatt posted a photo of Sanjay Dutt with Soni on Twitter. He captioned, “Soni is watching Sanju with Sanju !!!”

Ranbir Kapoor had said that it was a challenge for him to portray Sanjay Dutt on the big screen but he grabbed the opportunity of working with Rajkumar Hirani.
