Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree wins big at Star Screen Awards; see photos

After the wedding season, the awards season of this year is here. Yesterday, Star Screen Awards took place and it was one gala night. The award function was attended by many big names from the industry like Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao and many more. Considering 2018 offered many wonderful movies to watch, Stree and Raazi were the ones that ruled the awards show as they got the maximum awards. 

Stree received five awards including Best Film and Best Actor Popular. Take a look at the list of awards:

Amar Kaushik- Most promising debutant director

Pankaj Tripathi - Best Actor in a supporting role

Sumit Arora - Best Dialogue

Stree, written by Raj and DK, is set in Chanderi, MP. Stree (woman) haunts men roaming about in the streets late at night during the five-day annual puja. This compels the men of the town to either return home before sunset or step out at night wearing saris and ornaments. The film turned out to be a rage at the box office. 

In an interview with us, Rajkummar Rao shared his thoughts on the film's success. He told us, "I expected to be a part of the good film. But you know that's the fun part of being in this industry, one doesn't know what happens on a Friday. I was very sure that we are making a good film. I knew that people would like it, there will be a strong word of mouth but the way people are reacting, it's huge, it is overwhelming."
