A fan asked her, "When did you meet your husband Gene Goodenough?" Preity replied back saying, "I met him in Santa Monica in Los Angeles about six years ago. Then we dated for five years and we finally got married."
In an earlier interview, she had said that she is indeed lucky to have Gene as he pushes her to work. She said, "For me, it is very simple, I am married, working and very happy. I am lucky that I am married to a person who actually pushed me into doing a movie.
