Pictures: Shahid Kapoor gets clicked in the city as he promotes Padmavati

Shahid Kapoor is busy promoting his upcoming movie, Padmavati. Today, Shahid visited a film studio for the promotions and was all smiles for the shutterbugs. The actor was seen wearing a white tee and he completed his look with shades. 

Padmavati also stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. Shahid will be seen essaying the role of  Maha Rawal Ratan Singh while Deepika plays the role of Rani Padmavati. Ranveer will be seen as the main antagonist Alauddin Khilji.

While talking about the film and his character, Shahid had said to a leading daily, “Padmavati is a huge part of my journey and is very close to my heart because I’ve literally put my blood and sweat into this film. It’s also my first experience working with Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and I think words would fail to express how much gratitude I have towards him for teaching me everything and helping me in becoming this character. I also would like to say that it really is a privilege to play Maha Rawal Ratan Singh, a Rajput king who was a great warrior and a great king.”

When Shahid was asked about the controversy around the Padmavati’s release, he said, "I’ve been saying this since a long time. Watch the film and then decide. Give the film a chance and don’t form preconceived notions. We have tried to keep everyone’s feelings and interests in mind."
 
"We have tried to make film as best as we could. We will respect whatever people think of the film but you should see it first," added Shahid. 

Padmavati is slated to release on 1st December 2017.
