At the IFFI, when Ishaan was asked why did he choose Beyond The Clouds as his first film, he replied, ‘’Honestly, it wasn’t much of a decision to make because an opportunity like this seldom comes to an actor. Casting director Honey Trehan called me in and I had an opportunity to meet Majid Majidi and have a small conversation with him and after that it was not much of a decision to make for me because I’m a huge fan of cinema and I’m absolutely a huge admirer of his films. I just wanted to be a part of good films. It was not a very calculated or thought out process. It was instinctive.”
Ishaan will be next seen in Karan Johar’s Dhadak, posters of which released a few days back. The movie also stars Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role.
Talking about Dhadak as well as Ishaan and Janhvi, Karan had earlier said, "At Dharma (Productions), we believe very strongly in promoting new talent. A host of first time filmmakers, technicians and actors have begun their journey in the entertainment industry from the corridors of our company. I am exhilarated and proud to present two sparkling new energies and new acting talents- Janhvi and Ishaan- that will begin their cinema story with us. Also, I am very honoured to collaborate with Zee studios on this ambitious adaptation of the hugely successful and celebrated Marathi film Sairat."
Dhadak will go on floors in December and will be filmed in Rajasthan. The movie is slated to release on July 6, 2018.
